National Volunteer Week 

April 20–26, 2025

WHEREAS, National Volunteer Week is an annual celebration that recognizes the invaluable contributions of volunteers and promotes the spirit of service that strengthens our communities, improves lives, and brings people together to work toward the common good; and

WHEREAS, the City of Statesville is proud to honor the dedication of the many individuals who selflessly give their time, talents, and energy to improve the quality of life for others; and

WHEREAS, volunteers in Statesville serve in a variety of roles — mentoring youth, supporting seniors, cleaning up neighborhoods, assisting during emergencies, and much more — and their efforts enhance every facet of our community; and

WHEREAS, the City of Statesville believes in the power of volunteerism to inspire change, foster civic responsibility, and build a stronger and more connected city for all; and

WHEREAS, during National Volunteer Week, the City of Statesville encourages residents to take action and become involved in community service through events such as the Spring Trash Bash 2025, a citywide cleanup initiative taking place on Saturday, April 26, in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Litter Sweep program; and

WHEREAS, the Spring Trash Bash offers an opportunity for individuals, families, civic groups, and businesses to come together to beautify our city, strengthen community bonds, and demonstrate what is possible when citizens work together in service to others;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Costi Kutteh, Mayor of the City of Statesville, do hereby proclaim April 20–26, 2025, asNATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK in the City of Statesville and encourage all residents to recognize the positive impact of volunteer service, to celebrate those who give back, and to find ways to contribute to the well-being of our community — including participating in the Spring Trash Bash 2025.
