Citizens Self Service Portal

The City of Statesville is partnering with Iredell County in offering the public a new online permitting system that will simplify development services countywide.

Backflow Device request, testing + maintenance

The Cross Connection Control/Backflow Prevention program is the program designed to protect the public's drinking water from contamination by identifying and eliminating cross connections.

Banner Procedure + Application

The City of Statesville requires businesses or organizations to complete the Banner Application Form for all banners to be placed across City streets. The City will hang banners to promote public awareness of special non-profit, community-wide events. The banner cannot be used for the sole promotion of any organization and no for-profit sponsor of a banner may be mentioned on the banner. Downtown Statesville Construction Notification

The City of Statesville goal is to provide businesses/property owners a convenient way to communicate with the City concerning the impact of construction and renovation projects to the downtown area, including temporary use of parking spaces, temporary impacts to sidewalk access, and potential impacts to landscaping & furnishings.

Electric Utilities Policies + Procedures

NOTICE to persons planning electrical projects to be served by the City of Statesville's Electric System:

We have numerous policies & standards designed to ensure safe, orderly, & long-term electric service to its citizens & customers. Failure to follow the City's standards & policies will result in the City not providing service or disconnecting service until such standards & policies are met. Before beginning an electrical project, the City encourages persons to see information provided below & contact the Electric Department at (704) 878-3419.

Engineering

The City of Statesville Engineering Division reviews Public Water + Sewer Main Extensions through the Technical Review Committee (TRC) Process. Once plans are approved through this process, it is the responsibility of the Developer to file & obtain pertinent permits.

Fire Code Inspection

The Statesville Fire Marshal's Office conducts fire inspections in assembly areas, business, mercantile, factory-industrial, hazardous daycare, foster care, institutional, and educational facilities.

Liquor License Application

The City of Statesville requires businesses to submit a Liquor License to serve beer, wine and/or liquor. The penalty for engaging in business without obtaining a license is 5% of the amount of the license per month for a maximum of 25%, with a minimum of $5.00.

Plan Review + Approval

The Technical Review Committee is comprised of City of Statesville Staff, Iredell County Staff, NCDOT and Private Service Companies. Each of the members bring their specialty to the table to help make the review process more effective and less time consuming.

Planning + Zoning

The Planning + Zoning Department is responsible for current planning and long-range planning efforts. Current planning involves projects related to zoning, development review, architectural and appearance review, as well as permitting and other activities. Long-range planning involves the creation and enforcement of plans for the entire City as well as special areas related to future growth and development. Through planning we seek to enhance the quality of life of our residents.

Zoning permits must be submitted on Energov, the County's Citizen Self Service portal.

Stormwater

The Stormwater Division maintains the City’s stormwater drainage system. They work daily to improve the stormwater infrastructure and repair drainage issues throughout the City. This includes, but is not limited to, ditches, culverts, pipes, inlets, outlet structures, and driveway pipes.

Special Event ApplicationThe City of Statesville requires businesses or organizations to apply for your special event permit at least 60 days prior to your event (30 days for a neighborhood street closing).
