VIII. CONSENT AGENDA All items below are considered to be routine by City Council and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion on these items unless a Council member requests, in which event, the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered with the other items listed in the Regular Agenda.

A. Consider approving the March 17, 2025, Pre-Agenda Meeting and Regular City Council meeting minutes. (E. Kurfees)

B. Consider approving an annual request from the Statesville ABC Board to approve the Board's adopted Travel Policy. (Nicholson)

C. Consider adding two streets in the Hidden Lakes Subdivision Phase 6 to the City’s street maintenance system. (Bridges)

D. Consider adding multiple streets in the Greenbriar Subdivision to the City's street maintenance system. (Bridges)

E. Consider passing a resolution directing the City Clerk to investigate a petition of annexation, AX25-02 Wilson W Lee for the two parcels located along Wilson W Lee Blvd near the intersection of Concord Ave., receive the City Clerk’s Certificate of Sufficiency, and consider passing a resolution fixing a date of May 5, 2025, for a public hearing for the petition of annexation. F. Consider approving a five-year hangar lease renewal with Jay Brown. (Ferguson)

G. Consider approving a ground lease for the construction of an aircraft storage hangar. (Ferguson)

H. Consider approving the Statesville Fire Department (SFD) signing a contract to purchase a new fire engine. (G. Kurfees)

REGULAR AGENDA

IX. Conduct an evidentiary hearing of Special Use Permit SP25-01 Kinglett Crossing and consider approving the construction of a 50-unit senior (ages 55 plus) apartment building at 540 East Sharpe Street. (Caulder)

X. Conduct a public hearing and consider passing a first reading of an ordinance to annex AX25-01 Barkley Springs Phase 2. (Kirkendall)

XI. Conduct a public hearing regarding the condemnation of an abandoned nonresidential structure, located at 509-517 S Center Street, and consider approving the first reading of an ordinance to demolish the structure as unsafe and dangerous condition. (Marion) 

XII. Consider adopting changes and approve the first reading of an ordinance to the candidate filing fee for the municipal elections in the City of Statesville. (Smith)

A North Carolina drought monitor map dated June 2, 2026, shows drought conditions across the state.
