City of Statesville Utility Bill Newsletter: Summer 2026

Last Updated 6/18/2026Posted in Latest City News, Homepage

Important Utility Billing Updates

As part of the City of Statesville's Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget, several changes affecting utility customers will take effect in the coming months.

Effective July 1, 2026

  • Water and sewer rates will increase by 12%. The Water and Sewer Fund continues to face increasing operational and infrastructure demands, including ongoing maintenance of existing systems and planned improvements at the Fourth Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. These investments are necessary to maintain reliable service.

Effective August 1, 2026

  • A monthly technology fee of $1.00 will be added to utility accounts. This fee will help offset increasing costs associated with payment processing, system maintenance, technology upgrades, and other operational expenses driven by inflation. In addition, a 2.25% convenience fee will be applied to utility payments made by credit or debit card through the online payment portal or the automated phone payment (IVR) system. Customers who wish to avoid this fee may utilize alternative payment methods, including bank draft (ACH), online e-check, mail, drop box, or in-person payments.

The City is committed to providing safe, reliable utility services while maintaining and improving the infrastructure that serves our community. We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue investing in these essential services.
