Fiber Optic Installation Planned in the Cloaninger Avenue Area
The City of Statesville has approved a Right-of-Way Encroachment Permit for Ripple Fiber to install underground fiber optic conduit and cable in the Cloaninger Avenue area.
Federal regulations require public rights-of-way be made available for utilities such as fiber optic infrastructure. The City's role in this process is limited to permitting, inspection, and oversight to ensure work is completed safely and restored properly. The City does not control construction schedules or promote specific service providers.
Work is scheduled to begin July 16, 2026, and is expected to be completed by July 31, 2026, weather and conditions permitting.
Construction will take place in multiple areas, and residents may notice work along the following streets: Unity Drive, Pecan Street, Jones Street, East Cloaninger Avenue, West Cloaninger Avenue, Campbell Street, Hillard Street, Glover Street, Ora Drive, Scott Road, Eastover Drive, and Huskins Street.
During construction, residents and motorists may notice utility locate markings, construction crews and equipment working in the right-of-way, directional boring operations, and occasional lane shifts or brief traffic delays. Short-term access impacts may occur near active work zones. All disturbed areas will be restored in accordance with City standards.
Subcontractor Carolina Lighthouse will be performing the work.
