Honoring Our Retiring City Leaders

Last Updated 11/20/2025Posted in Legal Notices, Latest City News

On Monday, November 17, 2025, the City of Statesville gathered to celebrate the dedication and service of four remarkable public servants: three longtime City Council members and the Mayor of Statesville. After a remarkable 84 combined years of service, Mayor Costi Kutteh, Council Member Jap Johnson, Council Member Steve Johnson, and Council Member Joe Hudson are retiring from their roles with the City of Statesville.

The event provided a warm and welcoming space for community members, family, and friends to stop by, share conversations, and personally thank these leaders for their years of commitment to our city. There were no formal speeches or presentations - just an informal opportunity for residents and leaders to mingle, reflect, and express appreciation. It was a fitting tribute to individuals who have spent years working on behalf of the people of Statesville.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to honor these retiring leaders and celebrate their contributions to our community. We are grateful for their service and wish each of them the very best in their next chapter.
