Ron Smith serves as the City Manager for the City of Statesville.

He was appointed by City Council in June 2018. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and has more than 25 years of experience in local government.

Prior to coming to the City, Ron worked with Iredell County Government, serving in the role of Planner, Planning Director, Assistant County Manager, and County Manager for that agency. He has also worked in other NC jurisdictions and previously served as the Executive Director of Centralina Council of Governments.

He is a member of the International City/County Management Association and the North Carolina City and County Managers Association. Ron has lived in Statesville with his wife and three children for 14 years.
