Celebrating a Bright Future: Congratulations to Jay’Veon Lackey

The Statesville Police Department proudly congratulates Jay’Veon Lackey on his graduation from Statesville High School this Saturday. Jay’Veon is graduating with honors and will continue his academic journey this fall at High Point University.

Earlier this week, SPD South Statesville Community Resource Coordinator NaKayla Griffin had the honor of presenting Jay’Veon with a special SPD Ambassador cord to wear during his graduation ceremony. This recognition celebrates his involvement in the inaugural group of the South Statesville Junior Police Ambassadors – a program designed to strengthen the connection between youth and law enforcement while empowering teens to make a positive impact in their community.

Jay’Veon stood out as a committed and inspiring participant. As a Junior Police Ambassador, he helped lead youth activities, mentored younger children, and represented the department at city and community events. His leadership, kindness, and dedication made him a valued member of the team and a role model for his peers.

The SPD Junior Police Ambassadors program provides a unique opportunity for teens to engage with the department and serve their community through part-time positions that run from early summer through mid-December. Ambassadors assist with events, promote SPD programs, and serve as mentors and activity leaders.

We are proud of all Jay’Veon has accomplished and know he will continue to do great things at High Point University and beyond. Congratulations, Jay’Veon!
