"A Blue Hot Summer" is heating up in Statesville as the Statesville Police Department launches a season full of community events designed to build trust, break barriers, and bring people together. From youth camps and Coffee with a Cop to creative events like Snowball with a Cop, SPD is redefining what community policing looks like.

City of Statesville Implements New Weekly Technical Review Committee Meeting Schedule

Effective July 2, 2025, the City of Statesville's Technical Review Committee (TRC) will move from monthly to weekly meetings. This significant update is designed to expedite the review process, reduce wait times for developers, and allow for ongoing discussion and collaboration among review agencies.

Citywide School Supply Drive Launches for Statesville’s End of Summer Bash

The City of Statesville is kicking off a new citywide school supply drive to help students start the 2025–2026 school year with confidence!

From June 2 through July 18, residents can drop off donations at convenient locations across the city to support the End of Summer Bash, taking place on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Harris Park. 

This is the City’s first coordinated drive of this kind and aims to provide fully stocked backpacks for local children in need, helping ease the financial burden on families and ensuring every student has the tools they need to succeed. Learn more here.

🔹 Public Administration Intern (Part-Time): This internship provides students interested in public administration, local government, or public service careers with an opportunity to gain real-world experience working alongside city leadership. Interns will support administrative and operational functions of the City Manager's Office, gaining exposure to municipal policies, communications, special projects, and community engagement initiatives. This position is ideal for students considering a career in local government, public policy, political science, communications, or business/public administration.

🔹 Skilled Laborer - Water Maintenance (Full-Time): This position is responsible for semi-skilled work in a variety of construction, maintenance, and repair assignments involving the use of specialized tools and equipment within the city’s water/sewer department.
