Fiber Optic Installation

The City of Statesville has approved Right-of-Way Encroachment Permits for Ripple Fiber to install underground fiber optic infrastructure in multiple neighborhoods as part of a private broadband expansion project.

Areas of Work Include:

  • Stockton Street Area: Stockton Street (Park Street to Westwood Drive), Euclid Avenue, and North Oakwood Drive
  • Lakeside Drive Area: Lakeside Drive, Brookdale Drive, Restmore Drive, Sherwood Lane, Oakdale Drive, Thomas Street, Carolina Avenue, Springdale Road, Georgia Avenue, Dogwood Road

Scope of Work: Ripple Fiber will be installing approximately 21,376 linear feet of 1.25-inch HDPE conduit containing 48-count fiber optic cable. Work will be performed using directional boring and hand-digging methods to minimize disruption to existing roadways and properties.

What Residents Should Expect:

  • Active construction zones will be clearly marked with cones, signage, and flaggers.
  • Contractors performing the work are required to have the Ripple Fiber company name and contact information visible on their vehicles.
  • Residents will receive advance notice from Ripple Fiber prior to any installation activity on or near their property.
  • Temporary lane closures and intermittent traffic delays.
  • Restoration of all disturbed areas (lawns, sidewalks, etc.) once work is complete.
  • Coordination with the City’s Public Works Department to avoid conflicts with other ongoing projects, such as sidewalk construction.

Timeline: Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 11, 2025 (weather permitting). Construction will proceed in phases, and crews will rotate through the specified areas over the course of the project.

Contact Information: For questions or concerns regarding this project, please contact Ripple Fiber Customer Service at 800-359-5767.

The City appreciates your patience and cooperation as we support private improvements to our community’s telecommunications infrastructure through permitted right-of-way access.
