Residents Invited to Review Draft Beverly Heights/Western Heights Small Area Plan
The City of Statesville invites residents, property owners, and business owners in the Beverly Heights and Western Heights area to attend the final public engagement meeting for the Beverly Heights/Western Heights Small Area Plan on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the Statesville Recreation Center.
The meeting will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Community Room at the Statesville Recreation Center, located at 1875 Simonton Road.
Over the past several months, residents have helped shape the future vision for the Beverly Heights and Western Heights communities by sharing feedback on neighborhood concerns, transportation, land use, parks and recreation, and community priorities. That input has been used to create a draft Small Area Plan that outlines recommendations and strategies for guiding future growth and development in the area.
At the July 2 meeting, attendees will have the opportunity to review the draft plan, discuss proposed recommendations, and provide final feedback before the plan moves forward. City staff will also gather input on the plan's vision statement and any additional changes residents would like to see reflected in the final document.
The Beverly Heights and Western Heights Small Area Plan is intended to serve as a blueprint for future development and investment in the area while preserving the character, safety, sustainability, and sense of community that residents value. The draft plan addresses topics such as transportation improvements, pedestrian connectivity, neighborhood character, land use, and long-term community goals.
Residents who are unable to attend the meeting will have an opportunity to review the draft plan and meeting summary after the event. Feedback may also be submitted directly to City staff.
Community participation has been a vital part of this planning process, and all interested residents are encouraged to attend and help shape the final vision for Beverly Heights and Western Heights.
