The Kimbrough Park Renovation is a major improvement project which upgraded park amenities to create a more accessible and enjoyable public space. This project included the installation of a new playground and shelter near the basketball courts and restrooms, along with renovations to enhance ADA compliance in the restroom facilities. These upgrades make Kimbrough Park a more inviting and functional space for community gatherings and recreation.

Statesville Regional Airport Terminal BuildingMarch 2026

The City of Statesville is invested in the future of air travel with the construction of a new three-level airport terminal at 238 Airport Road. This state-of-the-art facility will enhance the experience for pilots, travelers, and businesses utilizing the Statesville Regional Airport, a key transportation hub in the region.

Exit 45 Sewer Line Extension

March 2026

The Exit 45 Sewer Line Extension was a key infrastructure project aimed at expanding sewer service to the I-77 Exit 45 area, including the Larkin Regional Business Park. This project will provide approximately 17,000 linear feet of new gravity sewer lines, enhancing the city’s wastewater capacity and supporting future economic development.

Martin Luther King Jr Park Pickleball CourtsMarch 2026

Work included the demolition of 12 horseshoe pits, surrounding fencing, and existing asphalt. New installations consisted of concrete, fencing, surfacing materials, lining, and a premium pickleball court equipment package for each court.

Caldwell Park Tennis Court Renovation

March 2026

The Caldwell Tennis Court Renovation was an important investment in recreational infrastructure at Caldwell Park. This project resurfaced all eight tennis courts with ProBounce turf material, improving playability and eliminating deep cracking issues that have affected the existing asphalt courts. This upgrade provided a better playing experience for the community while supporting tennis programming and regional tournaments.

South Yadkin Pump Station ReplacementFebruary 2026

The City of Statesville undertook a critical infrastructure project with the rehabilitation of the South Yadkin River Pump Station on Redemption Road. This project was essential in replacing major electrical components and pumps that were damaged during Hurricane Eta, ensuring a more resilient and reliable water supply for the community.

Emergency Infrastructure Restoration: Sinkhole Repair at Tradd and E Front StSeptember 2025

The Sinkhole Repair at Tradd and E. Front Street is an emergency infrastructure project aimed at the repair and replacement of both sanitary and storm sewer systems. This combined effort will address a significant underground failure and restore the area to a safer and more stable condition, minimizing the risk of future damage.

The Annual Street Resurfacing Project is a key infrastructure improvement initiative aimed at resurfacing roads and sections of greenways throughout Statesville. Water & Meeting Street ImprovementsJuly 2025

The Water and Meeting Street Improvement Project was a vital infrastructure upgrade designed to improve safety and traffic flow at the intersection of Water and Meeting Streets. By converting the intersection into a 3-way stop, adding green space, curb & gutter, and new street markings, this project created a safer and more organized roadway for motorists and pedestrians.
